For the Wontons:
- 1/2 pound ground pork (or chicken)
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil
- 1 teaspoon grated ginger
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 2 green onions, finely chopped
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon white pepper
- 20–25 wonton wrappers
For the Soup:
- 6 cups chicken broth
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil
- 1/2 teaspoon grated ginger
- 2 green onions, chopped
- 1/2 cup bok choy or spinach (optional)
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Make the Wonton Filling: In a bowl, mix ground pork, soy sauce, sesame oil, ginger, garlic, green onions, salt, and white pepper until well combined.
- Fill the Wontons: Place a teaspoon of filling in the center of each wonton wrapper. Moisten the edges with water, fold in half to form a triangle, and press to seal. Bring the two corners together and pinch.
- Prepare the Soup: In a large pot, bring the chicken broth to a simmer. Add soy sauce, sesame oil, and ginger.
- Cook the Wontons: Gently drop the wontons into the simmering broth and cook for 5–7 minutes, or until they float to the top.
- Add Greens (Optional): Stir in bok choy or spinach and cook for another 1–2 minutes.
- Garnish and Serve: Sprinkle with chopped green onions and serve hot.

- Wontons can be made ahead and frozen for quick meals.
- Add mushrooms or shrimp for extra flavor.
