Description

The Stuffed Seafood Bread Bowl is a rich and indulgent dish featuring a creamy seafood filling with shrimp and scallops (or crab), served hot inside a crispy, golden bread bowl. It’s perfect for special occasions or impressing guests.

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 1/2 lb shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1/2 lb scallops or crab meat
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 2 tbsp chopped fresh parsley
  • Salt, to taste
  • Black pepper, to taste
  • 4 round bread loaves, hollowed out
  • 2 tbsp olive oil

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a skillet, melt butter over medium heat and sauté garlic until fragrant, about 1 minute.
  3. Add shrimp and scallops, cook until just opaque and cooked through. Remove and set aside.
  4. Pour heavy cream into the skillet and bring to a gentle simmer.
  5. Stir in Parmesan and mozzarella cheese until melted and sauce is creamy.
  6. Return cooked seafood to the skillet, season with salt and black pepper, and stir gently to coat in sauce.
  7. Brush the inside of hollowed bread bowls with olive oil and bake for 5 minutes to crisp up.
  8. Spoon seafood filling into each bread bowl.
  9. Garnish with chopped parsley and additional cheese if desired. Serve hot.

Notes

  • Use lobster or clams for a luxurious upgrade.
  • Add corn, spinach, or mushrooms for extra flavor and texture.
  • Substitute coconut milk for a dairy-free or tropical twist.
  • Prepare filling in advance; reheat gently and fill bowls just before serving.
  • Bread bowls are best enjoyed fresh; refresh in the oven if needed.
