Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and line two 8-inch round cake pans with parchment paper.

- In another bowl, whisk eggs, milk, oil, and vanilla extract. Add to the dry ingredients and mix until combined.
- Slowly stir in boiling water or coffee until the batter is smooth and thin.
- Divide batter evenly between prepared pans and bake for 30–35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Cool cakes completely on a wire rack.
- Whip heavy cream with powdered sugar until stiff peaks form.
- Slice one cake layer horizontally to create four layers in total.
- Layer whipped cream and sliced strawberries between each layer of cake.
- Top with more whipped cream, strawberries, and garnish with chocolate shavings if desired.
- Chill before serving.
