- 1/4 cup honey
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar or rice vinegar
- 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
- 1 teaspoon cornstarch (optional, for thickening)
- 1 tablespoon water (optional, for cornstarch slurry)
- Fresh parsley or sesame seeds, for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- In a medium bowl, whisk together soy sauce, honey, garlic, olive oil, vinegar, and black pepper to make the marinade.
- Add chicken tenders, coat thoroughly, cover, and refrigerate for 30 minutes to 4 hours.
- Preheat grill or grill pan to medium-high heat. Lightly oil the grates.
- Remove chicken from marinade and grill for 3–4 minutes per side, or until fully cooked and charred.
- Pour remaining marinade into a small saucepan and bring to a simmer for 5 minutes.
- For a thicker glaze, stir together cornstarch and water, then mix into the simmering sauce until thickened.
- Brush grilled chicken tenders with the sticky sauce before serving.
- Garnish with chopped parsley or sesame seeds if desired.
Notes
- Use boneless chicken thighs or breast strips as an alternative to tenders.
- Add chili flakes or ginger to the sauce for extra flavor.
- Bake at 400°F (200°C) for 20–25 minutes if grilling is not an option.
- Double the sauce to use as a dip or drizzle over rice and veggies.
