Description

Sticky Grilled Chicken Tenders with Honey Garlic Sauce are juicy, flavorful strips of chicken glazed in a sweet and savory honey garlic sauce, perfect for grilling season or a quick weeknight dinner.

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 1.5 lbs chicken tenders
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce (or tamari for gluten-free)
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar or rice vinegar
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon cornstarch (optional, for thickening)
  • 1 tablespoon water (optional, for cornstarch slurry)
  • Fresh parsley or sesame seeds, for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a medium bowl, whisk together soy sauce, honey, garlic, olive oil, vinegar, and black pepper to make the marinade.
  2. Add chicken tenders, coat thoroughly, cover, and refrigerate for 30 minutes to 4 hours.
  3. Preheat grill or grill pan to medium-high heat. Lightly oil the grates.
  4. Remove chicken from marinade and grill for 3–4 minutes per side, or until fully cooked and charred.
  5. Pour remaining marinade into a small saucepan and bring to a simmer for 5 minutes.
  6. For a thicker glaze, stir together cornstarch and water, then mix into the simmering sauce until thickened.
  7. Brush grilled chicken tenders with the sticky sauce before serving.
  8. Garnish with chopped parsley or sesame seeds if desired.

Notes

  • Use boneless chicken thighs or breast strips as an alternative to tenders.
  • Add chili flakes or ginger to the sauce for extra flavor.
  • Bake at 400°F (200°C) for 20–25 minutes if grilling is not an option.
  • Double the sauce to use as a dip or drizzle over rice and veggies.
