Description

Spicy Roasted Chickpeas are crunchy, protein-rich bites oven-roasted with bold spices, making them a flavorful and healthy alternative to traditional snacks like chips or crackers.


Ingredients

  • 1 can (15 oz) chickpeas (garbanzo beans), drained and rinsed
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper (adjust to taste)
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Drain and rinse chickpeas, then pat them very dry with a clean towel or paper towels.
  3. Spread the chickpeas on the baking sheet and bake for 10 minutes to remove excess moisture.
  4. Remove from oven, toss chickpeas with olive oil, smoked paprika, cayenne pepper, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper until evenly coated.
  5. Return chickpeas to the oven and roast for 20–30 minutes, shaking the pan every 10 minutes for even browning.
  6. Let chickpeas cool completely before serving to maximize crispiness.
