For the Dumpling Filling:
- 1 lb ground pork (or chicken)
- 2 green onions, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1-inch ginger, grated
- 1 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tbsp oyster sauce
- 1 tsp sesame oil
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes (optional for extra heat)
- 30 dumpling wrappers
For the Spicy Sauce:
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 2 tbsp rice vinegar
- 2 tbsp chili oil (adjust to taste)
- 1 tbsp sesame oil
- 1 tbsp honey (or sugar)
- 1 tsp garlic, minced
- 1 tsp ginger, grated
- 1 tsp crushed red pepper
- 1 tsp sesame seeds
- 1 tbsp chopped cilantro (for garnish)
Instructions
Make the Dumplings:
- Prepare the Filling – In a bowl, mix ground meat, green onions, garlic, ginger, soy sauce, oyster sauce, sesame oil, salt, and pepper. Stir until well combined.
- Fill the Dumplings – Place 1 tsp of filling in the center of each dumpling wrapper. Moisten the edges with water, fold in half, and pinch to seal.
- Cook the Dumplings:
- Steamed: Steam for 8-10 minutes until fully cooked.
- Pan-Fried: Heat oil in a pan, place dumplings, and fry for 2 minutes until golden. Add ¼ cup water, cover, and steam for another 5 minutes.
Make the Spicy Sauce:
- Mix Ingredients – In a small bowl, combine soy sauce, rice vinegar, chili oil, sesame oil, honey, garlic, ginger, crushed red pepper, and sesame seeds. Stir well.
Serve & Garnish:
- Toss or Drizzle – Pour the spicy sauce over the cooked dumplings or serve on the side for dipping.
- Garnish with chopped cilantro and extra sesame seeds.
