Description
Seared Steak and Shrimp with Creamy Garlic Butter Sauce is a luxurious surf-and-turf meal featuring perfectly cooked steak and juicy shrimp smothered in a rich, garlicky cream sauce.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 ribeye or sirloin steaks (about 1 inch thick)
- 1/2 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined
- Salt and black pepper to taste
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 2 tablespoons butter (for searing)
- 3 tablespoons butter (for sauce)
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes (optional)
- 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
- Pat steaks dry and season both sides generously with salt and pepper.
- Heat 1 tablespoon olive oil and 2 tablespoons butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Sear steaks for 3–4 minutes per side (for medium-rare) or until desired doneness. Remove and let rest.
- In the same skillet, add shrimp and cook for 1–2 minutes per side until pink and opaque. Remove and set aside.
- Reduce heat to medium and add 3 tablespoons butter. Sauté garlic for 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Pour in heavy cream and bring to a simmer. Stir in Parmesan cheese and red pepper flakes. Simmer until slightly thickened, about 3–4 minutes.
- Return steak and shrimp to the skillet, spoon sauce over top, and cook for 1 more minute to heat through.
- Garnish with chopped parsley and serve immediately.
Notes
- Use a meat thermometer to cook steak to your preferred doneness.
- Serve with mashed potatoes, pasta, or steamed vegetables for a complete meal.
- Can substitute chicken for steak if preferred.
- Add lemon juice to the sauce for a bright, tangy flavor.
