Description

Seared Steak and Shrimp with Creamy Garlic Butter Sauce is a luxurious surf-and-turf meal featuring perfectly cooked steak and juicy shrimp smothered in a rich, garlicky cream sauce.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 ribeye or sirloin steaks (about 1 inch thick)
  • 1/2 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons butter (for searing)
  • 3 tablespoons butter (for sauce)
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Pat steaks dry and season both sides generously with salt and pepper.
  2. Heat 1 tablespoon olive oil and 2 tablespoons butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Sear steaks for 3–4 minutes per side (for medium-rare) or until desired doneness. Remove and let rest.
  3. In the same skillet, add shrimp and cook for 1–2 minutes per side until pink and opaque. Remove and set aside.
  4. Reduce heat to medium and add 3 tablespoons butter. Sauté garlic for 30 seconds until fragrant.
  5. Pour in heavy cream and bring to a simmer. Stir in Parmesan cheese and red pepper flakes. Simmer until slightly thickened, about 3–4 minutes.
  6. Return steak and shrimp to the skillet, spoon sauce over top, and cook for 1 more minute to heat through.
  7. Garnish with chopped parsley and serve immediately.

Notes

  • Use a meat thermometer to cook steak to your preferred doneness.
  • Serve with mashed potatoes, pasta, or steamed vegetables for a complete meal.
  • Can substitute chicken for steak if preferred.
  • Add lemon juice to the sauce for a bright, tangy flavor.
