Description

Savory Steak & Cheese Cookies are buttery, soft-baked snacks topped with seared steak chunks and gooey melted cheese, creating an inventive and savory twist on classic cookies.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar or mozzarella)
  • 1 cup cooked steak, diced
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce (optional)
  • 1 tbsp olive oil (for searing)
  • Chopped parsley or chives (optional garnish)

Instructions

  1. Season steak with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and Worcestershire sauce. Sear in a skillet with olive oil until browned. Set aside to cool.
  2. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  3. In a bowl, cream butter and eggs. Gradually add flour, baking powder, onion powder, and a pinch of salt. Mix until dough forms.
  4. Fold in half the shredded cheese.
  5. Shape dough into tablespoon-sized balls and flatten slightly on baking sheet.
  6. Press 2–3 steak pieces into each cookie and top with remaining cheese.
  7. Bake for 12–15 minutes until golden and cheese is bubbling.
  8. Cool for 5 minutes. Garnish with parsley or chives if desired. Serve warm.
