For the Calamari:
- 1 lb squid, cleaned and sliced into rings
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 2 tbsp butter
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tsp Cajun seasoning
- 1/2 tsp smoked paprika
- 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes (adjust for spice level)
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 1 tbsp fresh lemon juice
- 1 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped
Instructions
- Prepare the Squid:
- Pat dry squid rings with paper towels to remove excess moisture.
- Sauté the Calamari:
- Heat olive oil and butter in a skillet over medium-high heat.
- Add minced garlic and sauté for 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Add squid, Cajun seasoning, smoked paprika, red pepper flakes, salt, and black pepper.
- Cook for 2-3 minutes, stirring frequently, until squid is tender and opaque.
- Finish & Serve:
- Remove from heat and drizzle with fresh lemon juice.
- Garnish with fresh parsley and serve hot with extra lemon wedges.
Notes
- Avoid overcooking calamari—it turns rubbery if cooked too long.
- Serve over rice, pasta, or a fresh salad for a complete meal.
- Adjust the spice level by adding more or less red pepper flakes.
