Description

Salted Caramel Chocolate Chip Cookie Bars are thick, gooey dessert bars packed with melty chocolate chips and rich caramel, finished with a sprinkle of sea salt for the perfect sweet and salty treat.


Ingredients

  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 1/2 cups semisweet chocolate chips
  • 1 cup caramel sauce or soft caramel candies, melted
  • 1/2 teaspoon flaky sea salt (for topping)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a 9×13 inch baking dish with parchment paper or grease lightly.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
  3. In a large bowl, mix melted butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until smooth and combined.
  4. Beat in eggs and vanilla extract until fully incorporated.
  5. Gradually stir in the dry ingredients until a soft dough forms.
  6. Fold in chocolate chips evenly.
  7. Press half of the dough into the bottom of the prepared pan.
  8. Pour the melted caramel evenly over the dough layer.
  9. Dollop and gently spread the remaining dough on top of the caramel layer.
  10. Bake for 25–30 minutes or until the top is golden and set.
  11. Sprinkle flaky sea salt on top while warm. Cool completely before slicing into bars.
