Description

Salted Caramel Blondies are chewy, buttery dessert bars swirled with luscious caramel and topped with flaky sea salt for the perfect balance of sweet and salty. Ideal for parties, bake sales, or a cozy treat at home.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar (optional)
  • 2 large eggs

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour

  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup caramel sauce (store-bought or homemade)
  • Flaky sea salt, for topping

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line an 8×8-inch baking pan with parchment paper or lightly grease.
  2. In a bowl, stir together melted butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until smooth.
  3. Add eggs and vanilla extract, mixing until fully combined.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually fold into the wet ingredients until just combined.
  5. Spread half the batter evenly into the prepared pan.
  6. Drizzle half of the caramel sauce over the batter.
  7. Add remaining batter and gently spread to cover the caramel.
  8. Drizzle remaining caramel on top and swirl with a knife or skewer.
  9. Sprinkle flaky sea salt over the top.
  10. Bake for 25–30 minutes, until the edges are golden and a toothpick inserted comes out with moist crumbs.
  11. Cool completely before slicing into squares.

  • Use white, milk, or dark chocolate chips for variation.
  • Add chopped pecans or walnuts for crunch.
  • Incorporate 1 tsp instant espresso powder for a coffee twist.
  • Brown the butter before mixing for extra depth of flavor.
