- 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1 tbsp red food coloring
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar (for rolling)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Mix Dry Ingredients: In a bowl, whisk flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.
- Cream Butter & Sugar: Beat butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until fluffy. Add eggs, food coloring, and vanilla.
- Combine: Gradually mix in dry ingredients until dough forms. Chill for 30 minutes.
- Roll & Coat: Scoop dough into balls, roll in powdered sugar, and place on the baking sheet.
- Bake: Bake for 10-12 minutes until crinkled and set.
Notes
- Chill the dough for easier handling.
- Store in an airtight container for up to 5 days.
