Description

This Rainbow Layered Mousse Cake is a magical, no-bake dessert with layers of colorful, fluffy mousse on a soft sponge cake. A perfect treat for birthdays, celebrations, or when you want something fun and delicious!


Ingredients

  • 1 pre-made vanilla sponge cake (cut into layers)
  • 2 cups heavy whipping cream
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tbsp gelatin powder + 3 tbsp water
  • Food coloring (pink, blue, purple, yellow, orange)
  • Sprinkles and meringue kisses (for decoration)

Instructions

  • Whip the cream: Beat heavy cream, sugar, and vanilla extract until stiff peaks form.
  • Prepare gelatin: Dissolve gelatin in warm water and mix it into the whipped cream.
  • Color & layer: Divide the cream into 5 bowls, adding a different food color to each.
  • Assemble: Spread one mousse layer over the sponge cake, refrigerate for 10 minutes, then repeat for each color.
  • Chill & serve: Let the cake set in the fridge for 4 hours. Decorate with sprinkles and meringue kisses.

Notes

  • Use a piping bag for neat mousse layers.
