A delicious twist on the classic meatloaf, combining the savory flavors of a Philly cheesesteak with melty provolone cheese.

- 2 tbsp butter
- 1 small yellow onion, diced
- 1 small green bell pepper, diced
- 8 oz mushrooms, minced
- 1/2 tsp kosher salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 2 tbsp ketchup
- 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 2 large eggs
- 2 lbs lean ground beef
- 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
- 8 oz provolone cheese slices
Instructions
- Preheat Oven: Heat to 375°F (190°C). Spray a 9×5-inch loaf pan with cooking spray.
- Prepare Vegetables: Sauté onion, bell pepper, mushrooms, salt, and pepper in butter over medium heat until tender. Cool for 5 minutes.
- Mix Meatloaf: In a large bowl, combine ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, eggs, ground beef, sautéed vegetables, and breadcrumbs. Mix thoroughly.
- Assemble Meatloaf: Press half the meat mixture into the pan, layer with provolone slices, and top with the remaining meat.
- Bake: Bake for 40 minutes. Add provolone slices on top and bake another 15–20 minutes until melted and bubbly.
- Serve: Let rest for 10 minutes before slicing.
Notes
- Substitute provolone with mozzarella for a different twist.
- Serve with mashed potatoes or steamed vegetables.
