- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 3 large eggs
- 1 cup light corn syrup
- 1 cup brown sugar, packed
- 2 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 2 cups chopped pecans
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a 9×13-inch baking pan with parchment paper or grease well.
- In a bowl, mix 1 cup softened butter, flour, powdered sugar, and salt until a crumbly dough forms.
- Press the dough evenly into the prepared pan to form the crust. Bake for 18–20 minutes or until lightly golden.
- Meanwhile, in another bowl, whisk eggs, corn syrup, brown sugar, melted butter, and vanilla extract until smooth.
- Stir in chopped pecans.
- Pour the pecan mixture over the pre-baked crust and spread evenly.
- Bake for another 25–30 minutes, or until the filling is set and lightly browned.
- Cool completely in the pan before slicing into bars.
Notes
- Use dark corn syrup for a deeper flavor.
- Bars can be stored in an airtight container for up to 5 days.
- Refrigerate before cutting for cleaner edges.
