Description

This Pear and Gorgonzola Flatbread is a gourmet-style dish featuring sweet pears, tangy gorgonzola cheese, and a crispy, golden crust. A perfect balance of flavors, it’s great as an appetizer, snack, or light meal!

Ingredients

Units Scale

For the Flatbread:

  • 1 store-bought or homemade flatbread crust
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 ripe pear, thinly sliced
  • 1/2 cup crumbled gorgonzola cheese
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 1 teaspoon fresh thyme leaves
  • 1/4 cup chopped walnuts (optional)
  • Black pepper, to taste

Instructions

  • Preheat Oven: Set the oven to 400°F (200°C) and place the flatbread on a baking sheet.
  • Assemble the Flatbread: Brush the flatbread with olive oil, then sprinkle mozzarella cheese evenly over it.
  • Add Toppings: Arrange pear slices over the cheese, then sprinkle with crumbled gorgonzola, fresh thyme, and walnuts (if using).
  • Bake: Place in the oven and bake for 10–12 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and the crust is golden brown.
  • Finish with Honey: Drizzle with honey and season with a touch of black pepper before serving.
  • Serve: Slice and enjoy warm!

Notes

  • Swap gorgonzola for goat cheese or blue cheese for a different flavor.
  • Add a handful of arugula on top after baking for a fresh touch.
  • Can be made on a grill instead of the oven for a smoky flavor.
