- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella or Gruyère cheese
- 1 tsp fresh thyme or parsley, chopped (optional)
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Clean and slice the mushrooms.
- In a skillet over medium heat, heat olive oil or butter. Add garlic and mushrooms and sauté for 6–8 minutes until golden and soft.
- Season with salt, pepper, and fresh herbs.
- Lightly toast the bread slices in the oven or on a skillet until firm.
- Top each toast with sautéed mushrooms and a generous amount of shredded cheese.
- Bake for 5–7 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Garnish with additional herbs if desired and serve warm.
