Description

Molten Chocolate Center Cookies are soft and chewy cookies with a rich, gooey chocolate center, perfect for chocolate lovers looking for a decadent homemade treat.


Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter (softened)
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 12 pieces semi-sweet or dark chocolate chunks or squares (for centers)
  • Optional: 1/2 cup chocolate chips for the dough

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
  3. In a large bowl, cream the butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Beat in the eggs one at a time, followed by the vanilla extract.
  5. Gradually mix the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients until just combined.
  6. Scoop out dough and flatten slightly. Place a piece of chocolate in the center of each dough ball and fold the dough around it, sealing completely.
  7. Place the stuffed dough balls onto the baking sheet, spacing them at least 2 inches apart.
  8. Bake for 10–12 minutes or until the edges are set but the centers are still soft.
  9. Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
  10. Serve warm to enjoy the molten center at its best.
