- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter (softened)
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 12 pieces semi-sweet or dark chocolate chunks or squares (for centers)
- Optional: 1/2 cup chocolate chips for the dough
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
- In a large bowl, cream the butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
- Beat in the eggs one at a time, followed by the vanilla extract.
- Gradually mix the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients until just combined.
- Scoop out dough and flatten slightly. Place a piece of chocolate in the center of each dough ball and fold the dough around it, sealing completely.
- Place the stuffed dough balls onto the baking sheet, spacing them at least 2 inches apart.
- Bake for 10–12 minutes or until the edges are set but the centers are still soft.
- Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
- Serve warm to enjoy the molten center at its best.

- Chill dough if it becomes too soft to handle.
