Description

Mocha Custard Brownie Bars combine rich fudgy brownies with a smooth, coffee-infused custard layer — a decadent, double-layered dessert perfect for serious coffee + chocolate fans.


Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter

  • 1 cup sugar

  • 2 large eggs

  • 1/3 cup cocoa powder

  • 1/2 cup flour

  • 1/4 tsp salt

 

  • 1/4 tsp baking powder


Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line an 8×8-inch pan.

  • Melt butter, mix with sugar, eggs, cocoa, flour, salt, and baking powder. Spread in pan and bake 20–22 mins. Cool completely.

  • For custard: Heat cream + milk in saucepan until warm. In a bowl, whisk yolks, sugar, espresso, vanilla, and cornstarch.

  • Slowly whisk warm milk into egg mix, then return to pot and cook on low, stirring until thickened.

  • Cool slightly, then pour over brownie layer. Chill for 3–4 hours or until set.

 

  • Dust with cocoa or top with chocolate curls before slicing.
