Ingredients

1/2 cup unsalted butter

1 cup sugar

2 large eggs

1/3 cup cocoa powder

1/2 cup flour

1/4 tsp salt

1/4 tsp baking powder
Instructions

Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line an 8×8-inch pan.

Melt butter, mix with sugar, eggs, cocoa, flour, salt, and baking powder. Spread in pan and bake 20–22 mins. Cool completely.

For custard: Heat cream + milk in saucepan until warm. In a bowl, whisk yolks, sugar, espresso, vanilla, and cornstarch.

Slowly whisk warm milk into egg mix, then return to pot and cook on low, stirring until thickened.

Cool slightly, then pour over brownie layer. Chill for 3–4 hours or until set.

Dust with cocoa or top with chocolate curls before slicing.
