Description

This Mississippi Sin Dip is a warm, creamy, cheesy dip baked inside a crusty bread bowl. Packed with cheese, sour cream, ham, and spices, it’s the perfect appetizer for game days, parties, or holiday gatherings!

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 1 loaf of French bread (or a round sourdough bread bowl)
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup diced ham (or cooked bacon)
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 green onions, chopped (plus extra for garnish)

Instructions

  • Preheat oven: Set to 350°F (175°C).
  • Prepare the bread bowl: Cut off the top of the bread and hollow out the center, leaving about 1-inch thick walls. Save the removed bread pieces for dipping.
  • Make the dip mixture: In a large bowl, mix cream cheese, sour cream, cheddar, mozzarella, ham, Worcestershire sauce, and seasonings until fully combined. Stir in chopped green onions.
  • Fill the bread bowl: Spoon the cheese mixture into the hollowed-out bread.
  • Bake: Wrap the bread bowl in foil and bake for 25-30 minutes, until the dip is hot and bubbly.
  • Garnish & serve: Remove from oven, sprinkle extra green onions on top, and serve with the reserved bread pieces, crackers, or chips.

Notes

  • You can substitute ham with bacon, sausage, or shredded chicken for a different flavor.
  • If you don’t have a bread bowl, bake the dip in a casserole dish.
  • Serve with crackers, tortilla chips, or toasted baguette slices.
