Middle Eastern Beef Kofta Meatballs are spiced ground beef meatballs blended with herbs and warm spices, then grilled, baked, or pan-fried to juicy perfection. They’re ideal served with pita, salad, and yogurt or tahini sauce.

- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 small onion, grated
- 3 garlic cloves, minced
- 1/4 cup fresh parsley, finely chopped
- 1 tsp ground cumin
- 1 tsp ground coriander
- 1/2 tsp allspice
- 1/2 tsp paprika
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 tbsp olive oil (for cooking or brushing)
Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine ground beef, grated onion, garlic, parsley, cumin, coriander, allspice, paprika, salt, and pepper.
- Mix thoroughly until all ingredients are well incorporated.
- Shape into small oval or round meatballs.
- Preheat grill or oven (400°F/200°C) or heat oil in a skillet.
- Cook the meatballs for 10–12 minutes, turning occasionally, until browned and cooked through.
- Serve with pita bread, salad, and yogurt or tahini sauce.
Notes
- Use ground lamb for a more traditional flavor.
- Add mint or cilantro for additional freshness.
- Chill the mixture before shaping to help it hold together better.
- Serve kofta as part of a mezze platter with dips and sides.
- Use skewers to shape kofta kebabs for grilling.
