Ingredients

Units Scale

Fries:

  • 1 lb frozen or fresh French fries
  • 1 tbsp olive oil (if using fresh fries)
  • Salt to taste

Steak Topping:

  • 1/2 lb steak (e.g., ribeye or sirloin, sliced into thin strips)
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Cheese Topping:

  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella or Monterey Jack cheese
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese

Optional Garnishes:

  • Chopped parsley
  • Sour cream
  • Green onions

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Fries:
    • Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C) or cook the fries in an air fryer according to package instructions.
    • If using fresh fries, toss them with olive oil and salt, then bake or air fry until golden and crispy.
  2. Cook the Steak:
    • Heat a skillet over medium-high heat and add 1 tbsp olive oil.
    • Season the steak strips with garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper.
    • Sear the steak in the hot skillet for 1–2 minutes per side until cooked to your preferred doneness. Remove from heat and set aside.
  3. Assemble the Loaded Fries:
    • Arrange the cooked fries on an oven-safe platter or baking sheet.
    • Top with the cooked steak strips and sprinkle evenly with the shredded cheeses.
  4. Melt the Cheese:
    • Place the assembled fries under the broiler for 2–3 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  5. Serve:
    • Garnish with chopped parsley, sour cream, or green onions, if desired. Serve immediately.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, drizzle a garlic aioli or spicy ranch over the top.
  • Add cooked bacon bits for an even more indulgent version.
  • Use sweet potato fries as a variation.
