Description

Layered Maple Cream Waffles are a decadent brunch dish that combines crispy golden waffles with rich maple-infused cream, stacked high and topped with syrup, fruit, or nuts for a stunning breakfast treat.

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 3/4 cups whole milk
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 6 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1/4 cup pure maple syrup
  • 2 tablespoons powdered sugar
  • Extra maple syrup for drizzling
  • Fresh fruit or nuts (optional, for topping)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your waffle iron according to manufacturer instructions.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar.
  3. In another bowl, whisk eggs, milk, melted butter, and vanilla extract.
  4. Combine the wet and dry ingredients and stir until just mixed. Do not overmix.
  5. Cook the batter in the preheated waffle iron until golden and crisp. Keep warm.
  6. Beat cream cheese in a mixing bowl until smooth. Add maple syrup and powdered sugar and beat until combined.
  7. Whip the heavy cream to soft peaks in a separate bowl. Gently fold into the cream cheese mixture until smooth.
  8. Layer the waffles with generous dollops of maple cream between each. Stack 2–3 waffles per serving.
  9. Drizzle with extra maple syrup and garnish with fruit or nuts if desired. Serve immediately.

Notes

  • Use pumpkin purée and spices for a seasonal twist.
  • Mix in mini chocolate chips for added sweetness.
  • Top with toasted pecans or walnuts for crunch.
  • Add crumbled bacon for a sweet-salty variation.
  • Use plant-based substitutes for a vegan version.
  • Reheat waffles in a toaster or oven to maintain crispness.
  • Store waffles and cream separately and assemble when ready to serve.
