- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 packet taco seasoning (or 2 tablespoons homemade)
- 1/3 cup water
- 6 small flour or corn tortillas
- 1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar or Mexican blend cheese
- 1/2 cup shredded lettuce
- 1/2 cup diced tomatoes
- 1/4 cup chopped red onion
- 1/4 cup sour cream
- 1/4 cup salsa
- Chopped cilantro and sliced jalapeños for garnish (optional)
Instructions

- Drain excess fat, then add taco seasoning and water. Simmer for 5 minutes until thickened.
- Warm tortillas slightly in a pan or microwave to make them pliable.
- On a serving plate, place a tortilla and spread a layer of beef, followed by cheese. Repeat layering with remaining tortillas, beef, and cheese, ending with cheese on top.
- Place stacked taco layers in a 350°F (175°C) oven for 5–7 minutes or until cheese is melted.
- Top with lettuce, tomatoes, onions, sour cream, salsa, and optional garnishes.
- Slice into wedges and serve immediately.
Notes
- Add refried beans or guacamole between layers for extra flavor.
- Use lean ground beef or turkey for a lighter option.
- Make it spicy with hot salsa or extra jalapeños.
