Description
Key Lime Bars are a tangy and creamy dessert with a buttery graham cracker crust and a smooth key lime filling. These refreshing bars are perfect for warm weather and easy to make ahead.

- 1 and 1/2 cups graham cracker crumbs
- 1/3 cup granulated sugar
- 6 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
- 2 cans (14 oz each) sweetened condensed milk
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- 3/4 cup key lime juice (fresh or bottled)
- 1 tbsp key lime zest
- Powdered sugar, for dusting (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a 9×13 inch baking pan with parchment paper or foil and lightly grease.
- In a medium bowl, mix graham cracker crumbs, sugar, and melted butter until evenly combined.
- Press the crust mixture firmly into the bottom of the prepared pan. Bake for 10 minutes, then remove from oven and let cool slightly.
- In a large bowl, whisk together sweetened condensed milk, sour cream, key lime juice, and zest until smooth.
- Pour the filling over the baked crust and spread evenly.
- Bake for 15–18 minutes, or until the filling is just set and only slightly jiggles in the center.
- Cool to room temperature, then refrigerate for at least 2 hours or until fully chilled.
- Cut into bars and dust with powdered sugar before serving, if desired.
Notes
- For extra tartness, add a bit more lime zest.
- Bars can be made up to 2 days in advance and stored in the fridge.
- Use bottled key lime juice if fresh key limes are unavailable.
