Description

This Italian Sub Loaf transforms a classic Italian sub into a warm, cheesy, and satisfying baked sandwich loaf, loaded with deli meats, cheese, and zesty Italian dressing.


Ingredients

  • 1 large French bread loaf
  • 1/4 cup Italian dressing
  • 1/4 lb ham, sliced
  • 1/4 lb salami, sliced
  • 1/4 lb pepperoni, sliced
  • 4 slices provolone cheese
  • 4 slices mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup shredded lettuce
  • 1/2 cup sliced tomatoes
  • 1/4 cup sliced red onion
  • 1/4 cup banana peppers
  • 2 tbsp mayonnaise

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • Slice French bread loaf in half lengthwise and hollow out some of the bread inside.
  • Brush Italian dressing on the inside of both halves.
  • Layer ham, salami, and pepperoni evenly.
  • Add provolone and mozzarella slices on top.
  • Place on a baking sheet and bake for 10 minutes, until cheese is melted.
  • Remove from oven and add lettuce, tomatoes, onions, and banana peppers.
  • Spread mayonnaise on the top half of the bread, then place on top of the sandwich.
  • Slice and serve warm.

Notes

  • Try adding black olives or roasted red peppers for extra flavor.
  • Use a garlic butter spread for a richer taste.
