- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1/2 cup tomato or pizza sauce
- 1/2 lb Italian sausage, crumbled and cooked
- 1/2 red onion, thinly sliced
- 1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
- 1 tsp Italian seasoning or dried oregano
- Cornmeal or flour, for dusting
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 475°F and place a pizza stone or baking sheet inside to preheat.
- On a lightly floured surface, roll or stretch pizza dough into your preferred shape. Transfer to parchment paper dusted with cornmeal.
- Brush dough with olive oil. Spread sauce evenly over dough.
- Sprinkle with mozzarella cheese. Add cooked sausage and red onion slices.
- Top with Parmesan cheese (if using) and a sprinkle of Italian seasoning.
- Transfer pizza (with parchment) onto the hot stone or baking sheet. Bake for 12–15 minutes, until crust is golden and cheese is bubbly.
- Remove from oven, let rest 5 minutes, then slice and serve warm.
