Description
This Homemade Granola with Nuts and Dried Fruit is a crunchy, wholesome mix of oats, nuts, seeds, and sweet dried fruits. Perfect as a breakfast cereal, yogurt topping, or healthy snack.
Ingredients
Scale
- 3 cups old-fashioned rolled oats
- 1 cup mixed nuts (almonds, walnuts, pecans), roughly chopped
- 1/2 cup sunflower or pumpkin seeds
- 1/2 cup shredded coconut (optional)
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/3 cup coconut oil or vegetable oil
- 1/2 cup honey or maple syrup
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 3/4 cup dried fruit (raisins, cranberries, apricots, or a mix), chopped if large
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 325°F (165°C). Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, combine oats, chopped nuts, seeds, coconut (if using), cinnamon, and salt.
- In a small saucepan over low heat, warm the oil and honey (or maple syrup) until just blended. Remove from heat and stir in vanilla.
- Pour the wet mixture over the dry ingredients and mix well to coat evenly.
- Spread granola in an even layer on the prepared baking sheet.
- Bake for 25–30 minutes, stirring halfway through, until golden brown and fragrant.
- Remove from oven and let cool completely—it will crisp up as it cools.
- Once cooled, stir in dried fruit. Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 weeks.
Notes
- Customize with your favorite nuts, seeds, and fruits.
- For chunkier granola, press it down before baking and don’t stir until fully cooled.
- Add chocolate chips or coconut flakes after baking for extra flavor.
