Description
A simple, fresh, and tangy homemade cranberry sauce made with whole cranberries, sugar, and orange zest—perfect for holiday meals.
Ingredients

- 12 oz fresh cranberries, rinsed
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup water or orange juice
- 1 tsp orange zest
- 1/4 tsp salt
Instructions
- In a medium saucepan, combine cranberries, sugar, and water (or orange juice).
- Bring to a boil over medium-high heat.
- Reduce heat to medium and simmer for 10–12 minutes until cranberries burst and the mixture thickens.
- Stir in orange zest and salt.
- Remove from heat and let cool to room temperature. Sauce will thicken as it cools.
- Refrigerate until ready to serve.
Notes
- For a smoother sauce, blend after cooking.
- Add cinnamon or cloves for a spiced version.
- Can be made up to 5 days in advance.
