Scale
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 medium onion, thinly sliced
- 1 cup BBQ sauce
- 12 slider rolls or Hawaiian rolls
- 6 slices cheddar or American cheese, halved
- 2 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
- 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Optional: sesame seeds or chopped parsley for garnish
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
- In a skillet over medium heat, cook ground beef until browned. Season with salt and pepper, then drain excess fat.
- Add sliced onions to the skillet and cook with the beef for 5–7 minutes, until onions are soft and slightly caramelized.
- Stir in BBQ sauce and cook for 2 more minutes, then remove from heat.
- Without separating the slider rolls, slice them in half horizontally. Place the bottom half in the baking dish.
- Spread the beef and onion mixture evenly over the bottom buns, then top with cheese slices.
- Place the top half of the rolls over the fillings.
- In a small bowl, mix melted butter with Worcestershire sauce and garlic powder. Brush over the tops of the rolls.
- Cover with foil and bake for 15 minutes. Remove foil and bake for an additional 5–7 minutes until tops are golden and cheese is melted.
- Garnish with sesame seeds or parsley if desired. Slice and serve warm.
Notes
- Use your favorite BBQ sauce for either a smoky, sweet, or spicy flavor profile.
- Can be assembled ahead and baked just before serving.
- Try adding pickles or jalapeños for an extra kick.
- Leftovers can be stored in the fridge and reheated in the oven or microwave.
