Juicy herb-seasoned meatballs simmered in a sweet, tangy orange sauce, great as an appetizer or served over rice or noodles.

- Meatballs:
- 1 lb ground beef or turkey
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
- 1 large egg
- 2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped
- 1 tbsp fresh dill, chopped
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp onion powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 1–2 tbsp oil for frying
- Orange Sauce:
- 1 cup orange juice
- 2 tbsp soy sauce
- 2 tbsp honey
- 1 tbsp brown sugar
- 1 tbsp cornstarch
- 1 tbsp water (for slurry)
- 1 tsp orange zest
- 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
Instructions
- Combine ground meat, breadcrumbs, egg, parsley, dill, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Mix until just combined.
- Shape into small meatballs.
- Heat oil in a skillet over medium heat and brown meatballs on all sides.
- Whisk together orange juice, soy sauce, honey, brown sugar, and orange zest.
- Pour the sauce mixture into the skillet and bring to a simmer.
- Mix cornstarch with water to create a slurry, then stir into the sauce.
- Simmer for 8–10 minutes until meatballs are fully cooked and sauce thickens.
- Serve warm as an appetizer or over rice/noodles.
Notes
- Add more orange zest or concentrate for stronger citrus flavor.
- Use turkey for a lighter version.
- Adjust sauce thickness by altering the cornstarch slurry.
- Add chili flakes for heat.
