Description

  • 1 packet (2 1/4 tsp) active dry yeast

  • 1/2 cup warm milk (110°F)
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 large egg

For the Filling:

  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon cinnamon

For the Glaze:

  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  • Prepare the Dough: In a bowl, combine warm milk, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for 5 minutes until foamy. Add melted butter, egg, flour, and salt. Knead until a soft dough forms. Cover and let it rise for 1 hour or until doubled in size.
  • Make the Filling: Mix softened butter, brown sugar, and cinnamon in a small bowl.
  • Shape the Twists: Roll out the dough into a rectangle. Spread the filling evenly over half of the dough, then fold the other half over. Cut into strips and twist each strip. Place them on a baking sheet.
  • Bake: Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Bake for 15–18 minutes or until golden brown.
  • Make the Glaze: Whisk together powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract until smooth. Drizzle over warm twists.
