Ingredients
Scale
- 4 croissants (fresh or day-old, halved horizontally)
- 8 slices deli ham (or leftover cooked ham)
- 4 slices Swiss, cheddar, or gruyère cheese
- 2 tsp Dijon mustard (optional)
- 1 tbsp butter (melted, for brushing)
- 1 tbsp fresh herbs (optional, for garnish)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Slice croissants in half and spread a thin layer of Dijon mustard on the bottom half, if using.
- Layer 2 slices of ham and 1 slice of cheese onto each croissant. Replace top halves.
- Brush tops of croissants lightly with melted butter.
- Place on the prepared baking sheet and bake for 10–12 minutes, or until cheese is melted and tops are golden.
- Garnish with chopped herbs if desired and serve warm.
Notes
- For extra flavor, try a sprinkle of black pepper or paprika inside the croissant.
- Use mini croissants for bite-sized party appetizers.
- Don’t overbake—remove as soon as cheese is melted and croissants are golden.
- Serve with a side salad or fruit for a balanced meal.
