This Ground Turkey Teriyaki Stir Fry is a quick, healthy, and delicious weeknight dinner! Made with a flavorful homemade teriyaki sauce, ground turkey, and fresh veggies, it’s perfect served over rice, noodles, or even as lettuce wraps.

Ingredients

Units Scale

For the Teriyaki Sauce:

  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 3 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 cup water, divided
  • 2 tbsp honey
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 tsp fresh ginger, grated or minced
  • 2 tbsp cornstarch
  • 1 tbsp orange zest

For the Stir Fry:

  • 1 lb ground turkey
  • 2 tsp sesame oil
  • 3 cups broccoli florets (fresh or frozen)
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 1 cup shredded carrots
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

Instructions

To Make the Teriyaki Sauce:

  1. In a small saucepan, combine ¾ cup water, soy sauce, garlic, ginger, honey, and brown sugar over medium heat. Stir until combined and bring to a gentle boil.
  2. In a small bowl, whisk together ¼ cup water and cornstarch until smooth. Slowly stir the cornstarch mixture into the saucepan, whisking constantly until the sauce thickens.
  3. Remove the sauce from heat, stir in orange zest, and set aside.

To Make the Stir Fry:

  1. Heat sesame oil in a wok or large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the diced onion and cook for 3-4 minutes until softened.
  2. Add ground turkey to the skillet and cook, breaking it apart with a spatula, until fully cooked and browned (about 7-10 minutes). Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  3. Stir in broccoli florets and shredded carrots. Cook for 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the vegetables are tender and heated through.
  4. Reduce heat to low and pour the prepared teriyaki sauce over the turkey and vegetables. Stir to coat evenly and simmer for a few minutes to let the flavors meld.

To Serve:

Serve over steamed rice, cauliflower rice, noodles, or enjoy as lettuce wraps.

Notes

  • Protein Options: Swap ground turkey for ground chicken, pork, or beef.
  • Vegetable Substitutions: Customize with bell peppers, snap peas, zucchini, or baby corn.
  • Spice It Up: Add a pinch of red pepper flakes, cayenne, or a drizzle of sriracha for heat.
  • Adjust Sauce Consistency: Thin out the sauce with water if it becomes too thick.
