Ingredients

Units Scale
For the Steak:
  • 1 lb flank steak (or ribeye, sirloin)
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp Italian seasoning
For the Salad:
  • 1 cup cherry tomatoes, halved
  • 8 oz fresh mozzarella, sliced (or mini mozzarella balls)
  • 1/4 cup fresh basil leaves
  • 2 cups arugula or mixed greens (optional)
  • 2 tbsp balsamic glaze
  • 1 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
  • Salt & black pepper to taste

Instructions

  • Prepare the Steak:

    • Rub steak with olive oil, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and Italian seasoning. Let rest for 10-15 minutes at room temperature.
  • Grill the Steak:

    • Preheat the grill to medium-high heat (or use a stovetop grill pan).
    • Grill the steak for 4-5 minutes per side (for medium-rare) or longer for desired doneness.
    • Let rest for 5-10 minutes, then slice thinly against the grain.
  • Assemble the Salad:

    • Arrange arugula (if using) on a plate.
    • Top with sliced steak, cherry tomatoes, and mozzarella.
    • Add fresh basil leaves and season with salt & pepper.
  • Drizzle & Serve:

    • Drizzle with balsamic glaze and olive oil before serving. Enjoy!

Notes

  • For extra flavor, marinate the steak in balsamic vinegar and garlic for 30 minutes before grilling.
  • Use burrata instead of mozzarella for an extra creamy texture.
  • Serve with toasted baguette slices or crusty bread for a complete meal.
