Description

Juicy grilled sausages paired with sweet bell peppers and onions, all tucked into toasted sandwich rolls. These hearty and flavorful sandwiches are a summer grilling favorite perfect for casual dinners or cookouts.


Ingredients

  • 4 Italian sausages (mild or hot)
  • 2 bell peppers (red, yellow, or green), sliced
  • 1 large onion, sliced
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 4 sandwich rolls or hoagie buns
  • Optional: provolone or mozzarella cheese slices
  • Optional: mustard, mayo, or marinara sauce for serving

Instructions

  1. Preheat grill to medium heat. Lightly oil the grates.
  2. In a grill basket or foil packet, toss sliced peppers and onions with olive oil, salt, and pepper. Grill for 10–12 minutes, stirring occasionally, until soft and slightly charred.
  3. Grill sausages for 12–15 minutes, turning occasionally, until cooked through and nicely browned.
  4. Toast the sandwich rolls on the grill for 1–2 minutes until golden.
  5. To assemble, place a sausage in each roll and top with grilled peppers and onions.
  6. Add cheese or condiments if desired. Serve hot.
