Ingredients

Units Scale
For the Chicken Marinade:
  • 2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cut into strips
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
For the Tzatziki Sauce:
  • 1 cup Greek yogurt
  • 1/2 cucumber, grated and drained
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon fresh dill or parsley, chopped
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
For the Pitas:
  • 4 pita breads, warmed
  • 1 small red onion, sliced
  • 1 tomato, sliced
  • 1/2 cup chopped lettuce (optional)

Instructions

  • Marinate the chicken: In a bowl, combine olive oil, lemon juice, garlic, oregano, salt, and pepper. Add chicken strips, mix well, and marinate for at least 30 minutes.
  • Prepare the tzatziki sauce: Mix Greek yogurt, grated cucumber, garlic, lemon juice, olive oil, dill, and salt in a bowl. Chill for 15 minutes.
  • Cook the chicken: Heat a skillet or grill pan over medium-high heat. Cook chicken for 5-6 minutes per side until golden brown and fully cooked.
  • Assemble the pitas: Open each warmed pita and spread tzatziki sauce inside. Add grilled chicken, red onions, tomatoes, and lettuce.
  • Serve & enjoy!

Notes

  • Use tofu or chickpeas for a vegetarian version.
  • Swap pita for lettuce wraps for a low-carb option.
  • Store tzatziki sauce in the fridge for up to 3 days.
