Description

These golden crispy waffles are light, fluffy inside, and perfectly crisp on the outside. A delicious breakfast treat that’s easy to make and perfect with butter and syrup!

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 3/4 cups whole milk
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  • Preheat your waffle iron and lightly grease with cooking spray or butter.
  • In a large bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  • In another bowl, whisk eggs, milk, melted butter, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  • Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and mix until just combined (a few lumps are okay).
  • Pour batter into the waffle iron and cook according to manufacturer instructions, usually 3-5 minutes, until golden and crisp.
  • Serve warm with butter, syrup, fresh fruit, or whipped cream.

Notes

  • For extra crispy waffles, let them rest on a wire rack instead of stacking them.
  • Add a pinch of cinnamon or nutmeg for extra flavor.
  • Can be frozen and reheated in a toaster for a quick breakfast.
