Scale
- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 3 cloves fresh garlic, minced
- 3 tablespoons honey
- 3 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
- 1 teaspoon lemon zest
- 1/4 cup chicken broth or water
- 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano or Italian seasoning
- Salt, to taste
- Black pepper, to taste
- Lemon slices (optional, for garnish)
Instructions
- Pat the chicken breasts dry with a paper towel. Season both sides with salt, pepper, and dried herbs.
- In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium-high heat. Sear the chicken for 5-6 minutes on each side until golden brown and cooked through. Remove from the skillet and set aside.
- In the same skillet, add minced garlic and sauté briefly until fragrant.
- Stir in honey, lemon juice, lemon zest, and chicken broth. Simmer for 3-4 minutes until the sauce begins to reduce slightly.
- Return the chicken to the skillet. Spoon the glaze over each piece and simmer for another 2-3 minutes, allowing the chicken to soak up the flavor.
- Sprinkle with freshly chopped parsley and add lemon slices for garnish before serving.
Notes
- Add red pepper flakes or hot sauce for a spicier version.
- Use fresh thyme, rosemary, or tarragon for an aromatic herb upgrade.
- Can be made on the grill after marinating in glaze ingredients.
- Mix lemon with orange or lime juice for a complex citrus twist.
- Store in the refrigerator up to 4 days or freeze for 2 months.
