Scale
- 1 lb ground beef (or a mix of beef and pork)
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
- 1 large egg
- 2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped
- 3 garlic cloves, minced
- 1/4 cup onion, finely grated or minced
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 2 tbsp honey
- 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar or lemon juice
- 1 tsp fresh thyme or rosemary, chopped
Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine ground meat, breadcrumbs, egg, parsley, garlic, onion, salt, and pepper. Mix just until combined.
- Roll into evenly sized meatballs, about 1 to 1.5 inches in diameter.
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add meatballs and cook, turning to brown all sides, for 8–10 minutes until cooked through. Remove and set aside.
- In the same skillet, combine soy sauce, honey, minced garlic, and vinegar or lemon juice. Simmer for 2–3 minutes until slightly thickened.
- Return meatballs to the skillet and toss to coat evenly in the glaze.
- Garnish with chopped fresh thyme or rosemary before serving.
Notes
- Use ground turkey or chicken for a leaner option.
- Add red pepper flakes to the glaze for a spicy version.
- Stuff meatballs with mozzarella for a cheesy surprise.
- Bake meatballs at 400°F (200°C) if preferred over frying.
- Make ahead and freeze raw or cooked meatballs for convenience.
