Description

Garlic Bread is a classic, crowd-pleasing side dish made with crusty bread spread with a buttery garlic and herb mixture, often topped with cheese. It’s crispy, aromatic, and perfect alongside pasta, soup, or grilled entrees.

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 1 baguette or crusty bread loaf
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 34 garlic cloves, minced or grated
  • 2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1/4 cup mozzarella or Parmesan cheese (optional)
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 tbsp olive oil (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Slice the baguette in half lengthwise or into individual serving pieces.
  3. In a bowl, mix softened butter with garlic, salt, and parsley.
  4. Spread the garlic butter mixture generously over each slice of bread.
  5. Top with cheese if desired and arrange on a baking tray.
  6. Bake for 10–12 minutes until edges are golden and cheese is melted.
  7. Broil for an additional 1–2 minutes for extra crispiness. Serve warm.

Notes

  • Use fresh garlic for stronger flavor, or substitute garlic powder for convenience.
  • Can be assembled ahead of time and refrigerated until ready to bake.
  • Top with chili flakes, oregano, or bacon for variations.
  • Freeze extra slices and bake from frozen as needed.
