  • 1/2 cup carrots (sliced)
  • 1/2 cup green peas
  • 3 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
For the Sauce:
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
  • 1 tablespoon hoisin sauce
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1 teaspoon cornstarch
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)

Instructions

  • Prepare the Sauce:
    • In a small bowl, whisk together soy sauce, oyster sauce, hoisin sauce, sesame oil, cornstarch, black pepper, and red pepper flakes. Set aside.
  • Cook the Beef:
    • Heat 1 tablespoon of oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat.
    • Add the sliced beef and sear for 2-3 minutes until browned. Remove from the pan and set aside.
  • Stir-Fry the Vegetables:

    • Sauté the garlic for 30 seconds, then add the asparagus, carrots, and green peas.
    • Cook for 3-4 minutes until the vegetables are slightly tender but still crisp.
  • Combine and Serve:
    • Return the beef to the pan and pour in the prepared sauce.
    • Stir well and cook for another 2-3 minutes until everything is coated and heated through.
    • Serve hot over rice or noodles.

Notes

  • Substitute chicken or shrimp for a different protein option.
  • Adjust spice levels by adding more red pepper flakes or a dash of sriracha.
  • Use fresh or frozen vegetables based on availability.
