Description

Fudgy Double Chocolate Chunk Cookies are rich, chewy chocolate cookies loaded with real chocolate chunks, offering deep cocoa flavor and a soft, bakery-style texture. Perfect for chocolate lovers and easy to make at home.

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 3/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 1/2 cups semi-sweet or dark chocolate chunks
  • Optional: flaky sea salt for topping

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, cream together butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Beat in eggs one at a time, then mix in vanilla extract.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.
  5. Gradually add dry ingredients to wet ingredients and mix until combined.
  6. Fold in chocolate chunks, reserving some for topping.
  7. Scoop dough onto prepared baking sheets, spacing cookies a few inches apart.
  8. Top each cookie with extra chocolate chunks and sprinkle with flaky sea salt if desired.
  9. Bake for 10–12 minutes until edges are set and centers are still soft.
  10. Cool on baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to wire racks to cool completely.

Notes

  • Chill dough for 30–60 minutes for less spreading and deeper flavor.
  • Use white chocolate, peanut butter chips, or a mix of chocolates for variety.
  • Add chopped nuts for crunch or espresso powder for mocha flavor.
  • Freeze dough balls for future baking—add 1–2 minutes to baking time if frozen.
