Description

  • 8 oz semi-sweet chocolate, chopped
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

  • 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips or chunks (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line an 8×8-inch baking pan with parchment paper or grease lightly.
  2. In a saucepan over low heat, melt the butter and chopped chocolate together, stirring until smooth. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
  3. Whisk in the granulated sugar and brown sugar until combined.
  4. Add eggs one at a time, whisking well after each addition. Stir in vanilla extract.
  5. Sift in the flour, cocoa powder, and salt. Gently fold until just combined—do not overmix.
  6. Fold in chocolate chips or chunks if using.
  7. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and smooth the top.
  8. Bake for 25–30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.
  9. Cool completely in the pan before cutting into squares.
