For the Wontons:
- 1/2 lb ground pork
- 1/4 cup finely chopped shrimp (optional)
- 2 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tsp sesame oil
- 1/2 tsp ground ginger
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 1 green onion, chopped
- 20 wonton wrappers
For the Broth:
- 4 cups chicken broth
- 1 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tsp sesame oil
- 1/2 tsp white pepper
- 1/2 tsp sugar
- 1/2 cup chopped green onions
Instructions
- Prepare the Wontons: Mix pork, shrimp, soy sauce, sesame oil, ginger, garlic, and green onions. Spoon a small amount into each wonton wrapper, fold, and seal with water.
- Cook the Wontons: Boil water and cook wontons for 3-4 minutes until they float.
- Prepare the Broth: Heat chicken broth, soy sauce, sesame oil, white pepper, and sugar in a pot.
- Assemble the Soup: Add cooked wontons to the broth, garnish with green onions, and serve hot.
Notes
- Substitute pork with chicken for a lighter version.
- Add bok choy or mushrooms for extra flavor.
