Description

Enjoy a comforting, family-friendly meal with this slow-cooked chicken and gravy recipe. Made with tender chicken breasts smothered in a flavorful, creamy gravy, it’s a dinner that feels like a warm hug. Perfect for busy weeknights or a cozy Sunday dinner.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 34 boneless skinless chicken breasts
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/4 tsp garlic powder
  • 2 packets chicken gravy mix (0.87 oz each)
  • 1 can cream of chicken soup (10.5 oz)
  • 1 can chicken broth (14.5 oz)
  • 2 tsp Dijon mustard (optional)

Instructions

  • Prepare the Crockpot: Spray the crockpot with nonstick cooking spray.
  • Season Chicken: Season the chicken breasts with salt, pepper, and garlic powder. Place them at the bottom of the crockpot.
  • Make the Gravy: In a bowl, whisk together the chicken gravy mix, cream of chicken soup, chicken broth, and Dijon mustard (if using).
  • Cook: Pour the gravy mixture over the chicken. Cover and cook on low for 6–8 hours, allowing the chicken to become tender.
  • Shred the Chicken: Remove the cooked chicken, shred it using two forks, and return it to the crockpot. Stir well to soak the chicken in the gravy.
  • Serve: Serve over cooked rice, noodles, or mashed potatoes. Enjoy!

Notes

  • Make it Gluten-Free: Use gluten-free gravy mix and broth.
  • Add Veggies: Include carrots or mushrooms for extra flavor and texture.
  • Storage: Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
