Ingredients

Units Scale

For the Burger Patties

  • 1 lb ground beef (80/20 for best flavor)
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder

For the Burger Sauce

  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 tbsp ketchup
  • 1 tbsp mustard
  • 1 tsp pickle relish
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp paprika

For Assembly

  • 4 sesame seed burger buns
  • 4 slices cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup lettuce, shredded
  • 4 slices tomato (optional)
  • 4 slices pickles
  • 1/4 cup diced onions (optional)
  • 1 tbsp butter (for toasting buns)

Instructions

  • Make the Burger Sauce – In a small bowl, mix mayonnaise, ketchup, mustard, pickle relish, garlic powder, and paprika. Set aside.
  • Prepare the Patties – Divide the ground beef into 8 equal portions and shape into thin patties. Season with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder.
  • Cook the Patties – Heat a skillet or grill over medium-high heat. Cook patties for about 2-3 minutes per side until browned. Add a slice of cheddar cheese on each patty during the last minute of cooking.
  • Toast the Buns – Spread butter on the inside of each bun and toast in a pan until golden brown.
  • Assemble the Burgers – Spread burger sauce on the bottom bun, add lettuce, a cooked patty, another layer of sauce, a second patty, and top with pickles, onions, and tomato (if using).
  • Serve & Enjoy!

Notes

  • Use 80/20 ground beef for the juiciest patties.
  • Smash patties thin for that classic fast-food burger texture.
  • Customize with bacon, grilled onions, or extra cheese.
