Description

Double Beef Stack with Egg is a hearty burger-style meal featuring two juicy beef patties, melted cheese, caramelized onions, and a perfectly fried egg, all stacked in a soft bun for the ultimate indulgent experience.

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 1 lb ground beef (80/20)
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder (optional)
  • 4 slices cheddar or American cheese
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 large onion, thinly sliced
  • 1 tbsp butter or oil (for sautéing)
  • 2 burger or brioche buns
  • Mustard, ketchup, or burger sauce (optional)
  • Chopped chives or parsley (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Form ground beef into 4 thin patties. Season both sides with salt, pepper, and garlic powder if using.
  2. Heat butter or oil in a skillet over medium heat. Sauté onions until caramelized, about 10–12 minutes. Set aside.
  3. Cook patties in a hot skillet or on a grill for 2–3 minutes per side. Place a cheese slice on two patties while still hot, then stack with the other patties to create two double stacks.
  4. In a separate pan, fry eggs sunny-side-up or to desired doneness.
  5. Lightly toast the burger buns.
  6. Assemble: Place the bottom bun, add the stacked patties with melted cheese, top with caramelized onions, fried egg, optional sauce, and finish with the top bun.
  7. Garnish with fresh herbs if desired and serve hot.

Notes

  • Use a skewer to hold the stack together for easier handling.
  • For added richness, include bacon or avocado slices.
  • Customize with your favorite cheese or sauce.
  • Cook eggs on low heat for a perfectly runny yolk.
  • Serve bun-less for a low-carb option.
