Description

This Decadent Chocolate Trifle Delight is a rich and indulgent dessert featuring layers of creamy chocolate pudding, moist cake, and velvety chocolate ganache, topped with chocolate shavings and vanilla custard bites. Perfect for chocolate lovers and special occasions!

For the Chocolate Cake Layer:

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup cocoa powder
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup buttermilk
  • 1/4 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

For the Chocolate Pudding Layer:

  • 2 cups whole milk
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup cocoa powder
  • 3 tbsp cornstarch
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract

For the Ganache Layer:

  • 1 cup dark chocolate, chopped
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream

Instructions

  • Bake the Chocolate Cake: Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Mix dry ingredients in one bowl, wet ingredients in another. Combine and bake in a greased pan for 20-25 minutes. Let cool and cut into cubes.
  • Prepare the Pudding: In a saucepan, heat milk, sugar, cocoa, and cornstarch. Stir constantly until thickened. Remove from heat and mix in vanilla. Let cool.
  • Make the Ganache: Heat heavy cream until steaming, pour over chopped chocolate, and stir until smooth.
  • Assemble the Trifle: Layer chocolate cake, chocolate pudding, and ganache in a large trifle dish. Repeat layers.
  • Garnish & Serve: Top with vanilla custard cubes, chocolate shavings, and a dusting of cocoa powder. Chill before serving.

Notes

  • Can be made a day in advance for even better flavor.
  • Substitute vanilla cake for a lighter version.
