Scale
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon ground cumin
- 1 teaspoon chili powder
- 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 6 large flour tortillas
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil (for pan-frying)
Instructions
- Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add onion and cook until softened, about 3 minutes.
- Add garlic and cook for another 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Add ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it apart as it cooks. Drain excess fat.
- Stir in cumin, chili powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper. Cook for 1–2 more minutes.
- Remove from heat and let the mixture cool slightly. Stir in cheddar and mozzarella cheeses.
- Lay out a tortilla, spoon beef and cheese filling in the center, and roll it tightly like a burrito. Repeat with remaining tortillas.
- Heat vegetable oil in a skillet over medium heat. Place wraps seam-side down and cook until golden and crispy on all sides, about 2–3 minutes per side.
- Remove from skillet and let rest for 2 minutes before slicing and serving.
Notes
- Serve with salsa, sour cream, or guacamole for dipping.
- You can prepare the wraps ahead of time and pan-fry just before serving.
- Try using pepper jack cheese for a spicier kick.
